Who are we?
The Laurier Economics Club aims to provide anyone with an interest in economics opportunities to network with industry professionals and gain valuable information on potential careers, listen to how what they learn in the classrooms relates to real-world applications through our speaker series, and meet other like-minded students in socials, mock midterms, and countless more professional development events.
In the first year of our rebrand in 2014/2015, the School of Business and Economics Student Society (SBESS, former name of LazSoc) awarded Laurier Economics Club and Sports Management Laurier the Most Improved Club Award. Following our successful year, the Canadian Association of Business Students (CABS) named LEC as one of the two Top Associate/Subsidiary Club of the Year out of 32 universities across Canada.
Even with our accomplishments and establishing a permanent presence on campus, we will continue to strive to offer more ways to enhance the student experience for our members. Our members have an advantage in academics, career, and opportunities to meet fellow students.
